Selcuk has a huge amount of sites and places to visit, including a beautiful museum. The st Johns Bascilica and Bayzantine stand pround on the Ayasoluk hill.
The Isabey mosque is one of the finest mosques in the area.
The Virgin Marys House , ordained by the Pope is just a short drive away.
Pamucak beach is 8 kilometres away and is a 14 kilometre sandy beach virtually unspoilt, great for walking and relaxing.
The Camel wrestling festival held close to Pamucak beach is normally held on the 3rd Sunday of January, an amazing totally different experience, when camels wrestle with their necks or chase eachother out of the ring to win. Please contact aegeanrentals@hotmail.com to confirm dates.
All areas in Tukey are accessible from Selçuk and ferries to Samos leave from Kusadasi, only 20minutes away by car.
Kusadasi never sleeps. I am afraid a terrible cheap package tour destination. Those seeking the night life shouldlook no further. Paradise for the younger, maybe! Direct transport connections.
Just 2km from Selcuk, Ephesus can only be described as spectacular. Once the second biggest ancient city in the Mediterranean and capital of the province Asia. The list of places to see there is long: the Vedius Gymnasium, the Port Baths, the two ampitheatres (the larger could set 24,000), the Library of Celsus, the Commercial Agora, and numerous temples, to mention but a few. The Roman hillside houses are famous for their frescoes and mosaics.
Selçuk is also within easy reach of archaeological sites at Didyma, Metropolis, Bergama, Priene and Cesme, with Heirapolis (with the spectacular thermal springs at Pammukkale and Aphrodisias making an excellent day trip.
Sirinçe
Nearby, a pretty and popular restored Greek town that is located in the mountains, 8km from Selcuk. Sirinçe lies amongst hillsides covered with vineyards, peach gardens and olive groves.
