St Johns house is entered from the first floor where the master bedroom with its own private sitting room is situated, this room has beautiful views across the garden and down to Artemis Temple.
Three more very spacious bedrooms are situated on this floor, the twin room with its own library and all the rooms have a wonderful large veranda in front of their doors a wonderful place to relax.
This floor has a spacious bathroom with shower and toilet.
Down one flight of stairs brings you to the Turkish bath and in front a beautiful relaxing/massage area overlooking the garden, there is a toilet here.
Two more steps lead to a huge living/sitting room furnished with comfortable chairs, a large sofa and beautiful hand made Turkish carpets and kilims, there is a dining table that seats 8 to 10.
The spacious kitchen ajoins this room and the garden is reached through the large doors to a beautiful totally private garden, apart from the wild tortoises which have made the garden their home !!
The garden has a wood burning oven, barbeque and a fire place.
On the lower level of the garden is the dip swimming pool and below this the sauna and entrance to the utility room.
St Johns house is really a very exceptional property and very comfortable for families and groups of friends, children are very welcome.
Just 2km from Selcuk, Ephesus can only be described as spectacular. Once the second biggest city in the Mediterranean and capital of the province Asia. The list of places to see there is long: the Vedius Gymnasium, the Port Baths, the two ampitheatres (the larger could set 24,000), the Library of Celsus, the Commercial Agora, and numerous temples, to mention but a few. The Roman hillside houses are famous for their frescoes and mosaics.
Selçuk is also within easy reach of archaeological sites at Didyma, Metropolis, Bergama, Priene and Cesme, with Heirapolis (with the spectacular thermal springs at Pammukkale and Aphrodisias (click here for slideshow) making an excellent day trip.
