La Casita, unlike its name, is deceptively spacious and large. It is comfortable and its views and location are perfect for a tranquil and relaxed holiday. The neighbouring viewpoint of Cadeiras affords a most spectacular view of the Canon Sil as does the drive down to the let. There is much wildlife around such as deer, boar, and foxes not to mention the variety of birds. The river is a short walk away and you will see and hear locals swimming in the river. The people are extremely friendly and very helpful. Although English is not widely spoken here the locals are a happy and friendly lot and will always wave.

Home description

This is a recently restored original stone house with some traditional original features, wooden beams and wooden floors. It has its vineyard with some fruit trees and is nestled amongst the vine slopes of the Ribeira Sacra with a breathtaking vista of the Rio Sil. It is situated in the tranquil location of Portabrosmos and consists of two bedrooms and a spacious tiled shower room on the lower floor. The lower floor is tiled and leads out onto a large courtyard which overlooks the river and vineyard. The courtyard is split into two parts. One part is shaded by vines and overlooks the river and is superb for al fresco dining or just relaxing whilst watching the boats go by. The other part is open and holds four to six sun loungers and two large sun umbrellas and is ideal for relaxing and sunbtathing. There is a circular metal staircase fitted with stair gates for young toddlers separating both floors. On the upper wooden floor is a large spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living room area (45sqm). The kitchen is fully fitted and tiled and contains a dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area seats six. The living area has a television and two three seater sofas which also double as beds. At the front the house overlooks the vineyard slopes and the back overlooks the river.

There is ample reading material and games available for use.

Portabrosmos

Portabrosmos is a small village situated on the shores of the rio Sil and located in the region of the Ribeira Sacra.
