La Zenia

La Zenia also has many things to offer. It has a large supermarket 2 banks. Many bars and restaurants and of course a short walk to the beach. A 4 star hotel which offers nightly entertainment in the summer months. The beach is large and has beach entertainment i.e. watersports.

Playa Flamenca

Playa Flamenca has many things to offer. It has a large supermarket an 8 minutes walk from the apartment. 2 banks. A gym. Many bars and restaurants and of course a short walk to the beach.

Torrevieja

Beaches: So many where do you start? You can walk from one to the next on the lovely coastal walk, which stretches from Cabo Roig to Torrevieja. All offer rocky coves to sumptuous sandy beaches with crystal clear water and again, all flying the blue flag, which is the international standard of water excellence.

La Zenia beach which is attached to Hotal La Zenia. On this beach there is a rope climbing frame and you can park and walk directly onto the beach.
Hotel La Zenia Offers nightly entertainment in the peak season and at the weekends in the winter. It is a 5 star (I think, or at least 4) hotel with a décor inside to reflect this rating. It is a place to dress nicely and have a dance, if you wish, to live music. Waiter service and meals available.

Markets – One in Torrevieja every Friday morning. This is a huge one so in the summer months it is advised to go there early.
- One here in Playa Flamenca every Saturday. This is a small
one but should be visited as it gives you a taster of what can enjoyed at the larger one.

Restaurants – Well there are so many where do you start.
-Rancho Blanco on the way to San Miguel de Salinas. This
is set outside under the night sky and beautiful lamps light up when dusk falls. If the weather is cooler you can go inside and enjoy a roaring fire in the converted finca restaurant.
- Patio Andaluz in Punta Prima on the N332 on the way to Torrevieja. This restaurant has live guitar music and occasionally flamenco dancers.

Locally, Torrevieja has many bars restaurants, a beach front market which lovely to stroll down in the evening with all the stalls selling every choice of gift and the also the caricature artists which are always great fun to watch.
There is a submarine to explore. A fishing fleet to watch and a big marina to look at all the big boats.

Aqualandia - A waterpark. The tourist offices can give you discount tickets for this.

Costa Blanca/Valencia

Costa Blanca offers many areas of interest for the tourist.

You have Alicante which is the provincial capital. This has a theatre, shops and an old quarter to wander around. It also hosts a major marina which can accommodate cruise ships.

Orihuela - Many fine old buildings of antiquity.

La Manga - golf courses fine beaches

Cartegena which in it's day was the largest port in Spain.

Along the coast from Playa Flamenca, if you follow on the map and keep on the N332 - La Zenia, Campoamar, Pilar de Horadada and then San Pedro - you will find Lo Pagan.
This is where the MUD BATHS are situated.

(You will know when you are at San Pedro, because you will find a roundabout with a boat on it)
The mud is from the salt lakes and is BLACK in colour. You can have great FREE fun spreading it all over yourselves, like a giant mud pack and bake in the sun. Watch the locals, they will show you how it is done. After 20 minutes wash it off in the water of the salt lake and finally take a dip in the Mar Menor which is 2 metres away. Good for the skin, good for the body and most of all FUN.

Climate is very kind. Of course it is hot in the summer but in the winter the sun chases the winter blues away.
