Paseo de la Concepcion (between Rambla de Catalunya and Paseo de Gracia almost at the junction with Diagonal) - Modern Catalan menu and one of the best restaurants in Barcelona. You will need to book and the tables by the sloping glass roof are the best.

El Xampanyet

C/Montcada 22 (near the Picasso museum) - one of the best traditional tapas bar in Barcelona - fantastic ambience - it's a bit of a squeeze though! Try the anchoas and the house cava.
