Barrio de Monachil:

Barrio de Monachil, a large village nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, is an excellent location from which to access all that the historic city of Granada and the surrounding area has to offer.

There is an hourly bus service to Granada city centre with a bus stop just outside the apartment block.

The ski resort Solynieve is 30 minutes drive up into the Sierra Nevada. During the summer months many outdoor activities are available, including horse riding, canoeing, paragliding etc.

Just a few minutes drive from Barrio de Monachil is the pretty old town of Monachil, where there are several interesting hiking routes leading into the surrounding hillside.

Barrio de Monachil itself is a pleasant place to relax – it has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere which is most apparent in the good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. There are also several shops, including small supermarkets, bakeries, chemist etc., as well as banks, a laundrette and a doctors’ surgery.
