It’s just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Almoradi where there is a church and town square shaded by trees, where local people relax and have a drink. The square is a real social meeting place for people of all ages to congregate. There are approx 50 bars, café’s and restaurants (including Spainish, British & Irish) all within minutes walk from the apartment and on a Saturday the town hosts a local market with fresh food and local wares. For a light bite I recommend Cafe Vienna on Calle San Emigdio, for great value. For an early morning cafe con leche join the throngs of locals in cafe Tropicana on Calle Cervantes. For great tapas try Angel bar on Calle Pablo Picasso and for a great steak and a bit of Irish banter try Redz bar & restaurant on Calle Canalejas. If you are looking for live music try the Greenhouse on Calle Mayor between Bar Elite and the Welsh bar, the Red Dragon. There is usually a good mix of Spanish and British bands playing.

The local resorts of Guadamar (15km) with its beautiful beaches and Torreveja (20km) with beaches, a harbour and a more lively atmosphere are close by.

The apartments are located close to the popular golf courses of La Finca plus another 8 courses all within a 30km radius.

There is a bus stop 4 minutes walk from the apartment. The local buses go to many places including Guadamar beach, Torrevieja, Elche, Dolores, Algorfa, Benijofar, Callosa, Quesada and Oriheula.

How to get there

A local taxi from the aiport to the apartment can be arranged in advance with the key holder, from either Alicante or Murcia airport. He can also provide you with plenty of information on Almoradi and the surrounding areas.

The apartment is located on Avinguda del Doctor Maranon in Almoradi and is really easy to get to if hiring a car from the airport. I recommend www.doyouspain.com for car hire. The apartment is a 25-30 minutes drive from Alicante airport or 35 minutes from Murcia airport.

If driving from Alicante airport, follow the signs for Torrevieja/Cartagena from the aiport which will take you onto the motorway (AP-7), keep driving on this and take the turn off for Almoradi (exit 740, also signposted Rojales, Guadamar, Daya Nueva) . Drive a few hundred yards to a roundabout and take the turn off again for Almoradi. This will take you onto Calle de Rojales which leads onto Av. del Doctor Maranon where the apartment complex is located. The apartments are painted yellow and are on the right hand side just past the petrol station and car hire office and opposite el Chaparel bar.

If driving from Murcia (San Javier) airport, follow the signs for Alicante from the airport which will lead onto the AP-7 motorway. Take the turn off for Almoradi, exit 740 and follow the same directions from Alicante airport detailed above.

There ia also a local bus service from the centre of Alicante to Almoradi operated by Agostense. You need to get the bus from outside Alicante airport which takes you into the city centre. Ask the the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to the main Alicante Bus Station which is located on Calle Portugal. When you get off the bus from the airport take the first street to your right (Avd Pinto Lorenzo Casanova) walk straight down that street until you meet the Bus Station about 5 minutes walk. Journey time from Alicante to Almoradi is about 55 minutes. Once you get off the bus in Almoradi, the apartment is a 4 minute walk from the bus stop as you head away from the town towards the chinese restaurant and towards Torrevieja.
