Mali raj pod kostanji: "Little Paradise under the Chestnut Trees": German-Slovene Family rents out Semi-detached house at the edge of a rambling Submediterranean Park (100 varieties of roses) with panoramic view on the medieval village of Stanjel. 75 m2 of comfort for 4-6 persons (75 m2). Joint use of our solar heated family swimming pool for free (April to October). Big living-dining room with chimney stove, stone wall and sofabed, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms (doublebed and 2 single beds), WC, Bath/WC, roofed and furnished patio. Central and floor heating, WLAN, washing machine, SAT-TV, … Right next is our small art gallery and our old farmhouse. For lovers of nature, art and gardens, who seek silence(!). All year round perfect for hiking, bicycling, experiencing art and nature, tasting of local wines and specialities (Karst dried ham). Only 20 km from the Adriatic coast (Trieste). Pets on request. The annual sunshine duration is 2250h (i.e. 50% longer than in Frankfurt/Germany), November through March 630h and December 94h (i.e. 100%(!) longer than in Frankfurt/Germany). Location of the object: The Holiday House, the art gallery, our old farmhouse and the garden are situated on a sunny terrace in upper Kobdilj just next to the former Fabiani Estate. We are reachable by car from the main square of lower Kobdilj or by foot from Štanjel on the Fabiani path, which is clearly signposted (a 15-20 minute pleasant walk). The nearest Adriatic beach is at Sistiana mare (I) - 25 minutes away. It takes 1/2 h to the famous caves of Skocjan and Postojna, 1 h to Ljubljana or Piran, less than 2 hours to Venice or the Soca Valley (Julian Alps).

Štanjel

The medieval town of Štanjel is one of the main tourist attractions of Slovenia. The most dominant features of the village are the Castle, the Church of Saint Daniel and the Ferrari Garden with its pond and little island (created by Max Fabiani), which make Štanjel so remarkable. While walking through the narrow streets, the houses built in stone are telling you the story of stonemasons, who portrayed their experience of the Karst (Kras) through stone.
