Note:

Morenos

Many things to do or undertake, even in these hills! Wonderfull walks and some good restuarants are hidden landinwards! gypsy markets, and kind people also are not exceptions!
Morenos itself is a little village and horta is about 2 km away from it. there is a restaurant called monte velho not far away, about 10 minutus by foot.
many visitors tend to just stay in horta, take a walk, enjoy and use the facilities available. But sometimes its nice to go out to tavira,sao brass, faro or further... but the best part is always to come back to this retreat of peace and quiet.

Tavira

Tavira is a cute, easy going old historical moorish town. In winter it may be a bit dull (but nice) and in summer is nicely lively - but no mass tourism like in albufeira or spain.
It has a many good restaurants, clean beaches, and all kinds of things to do or not to do.
The villages around are also interesting: like santa luzia and fuzeta.
both have pretty beaches as well.
From tavira landinwards the hills gently becomea bit higher, and within 15 - 20 minutes you can be in horta, away from even the idea of the algarve or tavira.
here its just what it is, nature, mostly sun, and just rest.

Algarve

The Algarve does have 4 seisons but when which one happens is not very clear.
In general from half of may till end of sept, it does not rain.
Often november and februari are wonderfull warm- summer like months.
however horta das canas is comfortable and the algarve is actualy beautifull with rain aswell. And it normally doesnt last very long.
The region of these hills and tavira area are maybe one of the rather unspoilt and quiet areas of the algarve. Thanks to the nature reserve : the ria formosa, that makes a direct beach acces impossible.
