Hardenberg is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands, in the province of Overijssel.
Bruchterveld is a village with a population of 1,188 people. There is a village house and a football association. It has three churches: Dutch reformed, Dutch reformed freed and reformed.
Dedemsvaart ("Dedem's Canal") is a village with a population of about 12,000. It is located along an old canal, the Dedemsvaart proper, that lost its commercial importance after WWII. The area around Dedemsvaart, until 2001 part of the municipality of Avereest was important for industrialisation.
Gramsbergen lies on the N34 (Zwolle - Emmen), the Zwolle - Emmen railway and the Almelo - de Haandrik canal. Gramsbergen is a small town on the river de Vecht and became part of the municipality Hardenberg on January 1, 2001. Formerly Gramsbergen community was comprised of the centres Gramsbergen and De Krim and the hamlets Ane, Anevelde, Anerveen, Den Velde, Holthone, Holtheme and Loozen.
Mariënberg is a small town, located about 7 km south of Hardenberg. It has a railway station with connections to Zwolle, Emmen and Almelo.
