Piazza Navona, a jewel of the Baroque art, is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome.
Its stretched shape from North to South comes from the Stadium of Domiziano, which was built there in 86 A.C. and had a 275 meters lenght and a 105 meters width.
The square is decorated with 3 fountains, and the "Acqua vergine", discovered by the Roman Emperor Agrippa in 19 B.C. near "Salone", gushes out from them.
At the center of the square the "Fontana dei Fiumi", realised in 1651 by world known sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
