--- Domus Colosseo: its district ---
Its rione (= small district) Celio, one of the Seven Hills, is becoming very fashionable like Trastevere but much less noisy and so full of greens (it is encircled by three public parks and one garden, which are perfect for children).
Pubs, restaurants, wine bars and pizzerias are everywhere.
During summer Villa Celimontana hosts a Music Festival and various cultural events during all year.
In Via S. Giovanni in Laterano you can find two cashpoints and at “Pizza Forum” you get a real pizza “the way Neapolitans cook it” (something not so common in Rome). A pharmacy is in Via Celimontana. A supermarket is in Via Annia and another one in Via SS. Quattro, both 1 minute walk away.
--- Domus Colosseo: in the heart of ancient Rome ---
Located in the heart of ancient Rome, the apartment is perfect for those who love both the majestic Roman antiquities and the little alleys and squares with their charming dolce vita. Everything is at reach on foot and radiates a sacred aura which comes from the millennia. Additionally, being the area a public transportation hub one can easily reach any destination via underground, buses, taxis or whatsoever. Or, if you prefer to take it easy, you placidly have at disposal no less than the Colosseum, Imperial Forums, Domus Aurea, Palatinus, Circus Maximus etc., ALL at two minutes walk.
Lazio (Latium in Latin) is a region of central Italy bordered by Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzi, Marche, Molise, Campania and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Lazio is outstanding for its history, art, architecture, archaeology, religion and culture. Here Aeneas and Ulysses landed. Here in mount Circeo (only 100 km southeast of Rome) Circe the enchantress lived. Here the Etruscans taught the Romans the gladiatorial games. Since Latium did give birth to the Latin peoples, and since from the Latin peoples the ancient Romans sprouted, one can rightfully also say that the entire world-wide Latin world saw his birth in this precious historical area.
