Our villa is situated among the Sabina hills, 45 Km far from Rome and 1.5Km far from a nice town where you can find everything you may need . From the villa there are buses to the town and from the town there are bus-shuttles leading to the railway station (7Km far) and then metropolitan trains to and from Rome. the journey takes less than one hour.The same train goes to and from Fiumicino airport. The villa is immersed in the green od the Sabina hills, in a quiet and peaceful environment, it is surrounded by a large garden with brq, swimming pool, table tennis, table football, gazebo, garden furniture and by olive groves and fruit trees. The villa is on two floors: on the first floor there is a large hall, a livingroom with fire place, a kitchinette, a dining room where 12 people can confortably eat, 3 bedrooms (one with double- bed and two with 3 single beds), a bathroom with a shower and two sinks and a balcony. Upstairs there is a living-room/kitchen with fireplace, two bedrooms (one double-bed, one with 2 single beds) a large bathroom with a shower and a terrace with stunning view (in no-hazzle days it is possible to see St Peter's Dome's shape). The rooms are large, full of light, airy and well furnished.

The villa is the ideal location for people who want to have a relaxing haliday, resting in the sun,taking a bath in our swimming pool or walking on the hills, fishing in small artificial lakes nearb y, watching wild life in the Tiber reservation nearby, visiting old medieval villages, monasteries or abbeys, playing golf in a 9-holes field nearby or visiting Rome yet avoiding the chaos of the city, coming back in the evening drinking a glass of wine in the wonderful scenery from the swimming pool or from the terrace. You can also visit places of interest in Italy with a one-day trip, being our villa very near the A1 milan-Rome Ponzano-Romano/Soratte exit. You can easily reach Florence, Lucca, SienA, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Naples, Pompeii etc.

Location

Poggio Mirteto is a comune (municipality) and former episcopal see in the Province of Rieti (formerly in the province of Perugia) in the Italian region Latium, about 45 km northeast of Rome and about 20 km southwest of Rieti, situated on a pleasant height, by the River Sole, in a fertile region, where pot-herbs, cereals, grapes and pastures are cultivated, and where ancient ruins of villas and of aqueducts are numerous; the villa of Terentius Varro was in this neighbourhood.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,440 and an area of 26.4 km2. Poggio Mirteto borders the following municipalities: Filacciano, Forano, Montopoli di Sabina, Poggio Catino, Salisano and Torrita Tiberina.
