Home description

Casa Marconi is a charming stone villa dating back to the 18th century. It is set on two hectares of terraced farmland with fruit and olive trees, surrounded by a wide garden offering nice spots to relax. The location of the property, approximately 30 minutes drive from Lucca, is ideal to experience the lovely countryside but also be in proximity of many important Tuscan sightseeing: Pisa and the Riviera only 45 km away, Torre del Lago (famous for Puccini\'s Villa and the lake) 40 km, Lucca 25 km, the Spa Town of Bagni di Lucca 15 km, where you can take hot thermal baths, Barga (a beautiful historic medieval walled city) 20 km, Florence and the Chianti shire are a good daily excursion.
The villa has been thoroughly restored in 1999 retaining its old character but adding modern comfort and convenience.
Colognora, where the property is set, is a magnificently preserved village, rather off the beaten tracks. Its name derives from coloniola, which is small colony. The village is surrounded by forests of chestnut trees, with houses in stone that date back to the 16th century. Daily shopping can be found at 10 minutes drive. A public pool is in the Spa-town Bagni Di Lucca.

Media Valle del Serchio is a region of the province of Lucca from the town of Lucca in Garfagnana, along the Serchio river basin. The capital is Barga.
