Villa Carlotta

The Villa Carlotta lays on a morenic hill,on the west coast of lake Como, at an altitude of 201 meters(about 600 feet) about sealevel,and its extensions is of 70.000 square meters (about 14 acres).
The buildings was begun in 1690 by marquis Giorgio Clerici ,a Milanese banker,then the villa passed in 1795 into the hands of marquis Sommariva,a big business man at Napoleon time.
