Caporciano

Caporciano is a town and commune in the province of L'Aquila, in the region of Abruzzo, Southern Italy.

It is located about 20 minutes from the main city of L'Aquila, the capital of Abruzzo. It is also about an hour from Pescara and about an hour and a half from Rome.

Caporciano belongs to the province of L`Aquila and is 30 kilometers far from L`Aquila, that is the Chief Town of the homonymous province.

Caporciano has a population of 265 inhabitants (Caporcianesi) and a surface of 18,3 square kilometers thus showing a population density of 14,48 inhabitants per square kilometer. It rises 836 metres above the sea level.

The municipality of Caporciano had a popolation of 324 inhabitants accordingly to the results of the national census made in 1991. After the national census made in 2001 the population was 265 inhabitants, thus showing during the years 1991 - 2001 a percentual variation of -18,21% inhabitants.
