Alghero

Alghero's atmospheric old centre is its real attraction, and it can easily be explored on foot. Much of the architecture, which reflects Catalan and Gothic influences, dates from the 16th century. Seven towers, built to strenghthen the town's defences, dominate the centre
Nightlife in Alghero is fairly low key, but start by sipping cocktails outside the elegant Cafe Latino, overlooking the pretty harbour. Enjoy another pre-dinner drink in the centre of old Alghero, where there are a number of rustic bars, such as the Jamaica Inn on Via Principe Umberto. After dinner, the locals make for the Piazza Civica. The Cafe Costantino is good for nightcaps.

Alghero

Alghero is a charming old town walled and fortified the bastion walls which have protected the town from attack have been rebuilt and restored Narrow paved and cobbled walkways lead to piazzas with restaurants bars and shops The promenade provides a pleasant vantage point for viewing the colourful fishing and pleasure boats The white powdery beach is located approximately 10 minutes outside the town Even more picturesque beaches can be found at La Speranza Bombarde Porte Conte Lazzaretto

Sardinia

Sardinia is not a mainstream Mediterranean destination but a sophisticated island set in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, about 120 miles west of the Italian mainland , with around 1,800km of coastline.

It is small enough to be called an island but big enough to be a universe unto itself. It is renowned for deserted beaches, clear emerald coloured waters and fascinating rock formations. The people are warm and friendly and enjoying themselves is a way of life. Yet all this is a mere 2 hour flight from the UK!
