St Helens

St. Helens Bay Golf Resort has over the last eight years developed into one of Ireland's foremost golf destinations. With a challenging 27 hole course and panoramic views of the South Wexford Coastline the visitor is guaranteed an enjoyable golfing experience.

There are many appealing features on the course, not least being the stone walls, an area of the nearby beach known as Pirate's Cove and an ancient tower house dating back to the 13th century.

With majestic sea and beach views the original 16, 17 and 18 holes (now the Green 7, 8, & 9) have since become some of the best known and admired holes in all of Ireland.

Reflections on St. Helen's Bay are dominated by these 3 finishing holes, which would not be out of place on any of the country's leading links courses. The Green 8 hole is a fine par three, where except in the case of a helping wind; a fairway wood is required to reach the tightly trapped target. On the other hand, the par four Green 9 hole, at less than 300 yards in length, is almost driveable. Its design is clever though so power had better be allied to precision if major grief is to be avoided from the beckoning dunes.

In addition to the golf facilities over the years other amenities have been added including full bar facilities, the new St Helens Steakhouse, 5 hard tennis courts, Children's playground, and of course 257 holiday cottages most of which are privately owned.
