Csokonyavisonta

Csokonyavisonta is a village in Somogy county, Hungary. Village with 1,778 residents 15 km north of the border crossing place of Barcs. A whole spa was established on its 75 degree C, slightly iodic and sulphuric thermal water of remarkable curative effect. There is a high-altarpiece representing King Saint László in its Baroque Roman Catholic church. Birthplace of natural scientist János Xantus, founder of the Budapest Zoo.
