Balatonföldvár is a small town in Somogy county, Hungary. It is situated on the south side of Lake Balaton, approximately 120 km southwest from Budapest. It was settled relatively recently by modern man (mid- to late 1800's), however, archeologists found objects in the area dating back to the late Stone Age.
