The cottage is available on a weekly basis - usually form Saturday to Saturday - but we do try to be flexible, especially outside the main summer season, and shorter breaks are possible.

Note:

Baleme

Baleme is a tiny hamlet just outside Treignac down a small lane that finishes just past the cottage. The hamlet consists of our couple of cottages, a mini chateau and our 1 permanent neighbour!
Although it is quiet here, there is plenty to do at the local markets, numerous fairs and festivals, and some fantastic restaurants close by.

Treignac

We are 1 mile outside Treignac, the medieval village voted one of the most beautiful in France. The bakers, butchers, greengrocers, bars and bank are only 5 minutes away by car or a 20 minute walk through the woods. Treignac also has a famous choclaterie which must be visited!

Correze

The area is known as the French lake district and Treignac boasts a fine lake with a safe beach for even the youngest bathers and many water sports for those slightly older!
The area is renowned for walking with dozens of marked routes - from just a gentle stroll around the local chateau to serious hiking across forested hills. Wildlife abounds in the fields and woods surrounding the cottage – deer, foxes, badgers are regularly seen and wild boar (sanglier) have been heard in the woods (but not seen!).

Limousin/Auvergne

One of the 'forgotten' parts of France -densely covered with lakes and forests but sparsely populated with people! The area is perfect for those who want peace and quiet.
