Home description

A most attractive area - no traffic! Verfeil - a village fleuri - is within easy walking distance (1km) and has a good boulangerie/general stores, garage, bar/restaurant and post office. Tennis; boulodrome. Visiting butcher and fishmonger. Within about 30 minutes driving time are several charming, picturesque mediaeval/bastide villages, Aveyron river 10 minutes; ideal for walking, vineyard visits, exploring historic towns and villages. An hour from Rodez airport, 75 mins Toulouse.

Living rooms

A spacious property, restored to a high standard. It is very attractively and comfortably furnished. Main access from sizeable parking area through double French windows; exposed beams and stone walls give a cool interior in summer. Sitting room with further kitchen and dining areas with view to village. Comfortable couches,solid fuel Godin stove and gas heater; extensive library. Shower room on this floor.

Bedrooms

In farmhouse area up small flight of stairs to double bedroom and minstrels gallery with realxing chairs and video facilities.

Through arch to Pigeonnier tower with newly established modern shower room. Up stairs to roomy double bedroom with stunning views across the valley.

Down stairs from ground floor shower room to cool twin bedded room, that has access to the garden.

Varen

Varen is an old village - also on the Aveyron river - just 4km from Verfeil sur Seye. In fact the villages are closely linked through schools and shared local facilities. The local Pharmacie is in Varen whilst Verfeil has a very good garage (not petrol) should any mechanical help be needed during holidays. It is placed conveniently opposite the boulangerie/general shop. Verfeil has a bar/restaurant, as does Varen and tennis courts. Verfeil is only 10 minutes across the fields on foot so the croissant run is great fun for all the family.
