Verfeil sur Seye

Verfeil sur Seye is an attractive small village just 12km East of St Antonin. Verfeil has a very good garage (not petrol) should any mechanical help be needed during holidays. It is placed conveniently opposite the boulangerie/general shop. Verfeil has a bar/restaurant, as does nearby Varen, and tennis courts. Verfeil is only 10 minutes across the fields on foot so the croissant run is great fun for all the family. The local Pharmacie is in Varen .
Verfeil is a stone's throw from the Aveyron river, the trout farm at Arnac, the former Cistercian abbey at Beaulieu. Verfeil has a world music festival in mid August , a street carnaval at Easter and musical events in the church. Further afield the area is replete with wonderful music in abbeys and churches, fetes, pageants, vineyard tours and tastings and festivals.

St Antonin Noble Val

A lovely old medieval town alongside the river Aveyron, with quaint old streets and impressive buildings. The Sunday market is the high point of the week and pulls visitors in from a wide catchment. The fête des moissons (harvest) and the car race through the gorge in August are fullof excitement and interest. Canoeing on the river is a very popular activity.

Tarn-et-Garonne

This north eastern part of Tarn et Garonne is in marked contrast to the flat river plains further south. Its undulating countryside offers considerable surprises such as the spectaular Gorges de l'Aveyron which stretch from the attractive medieval town of St Antonin (12km) through Penne and Bruniquel.

Midi-Pyrenees

Midi Pyrenees - South West France - is a rich and varied region where tourism is growing in importance but where traffic jams and crowds are largely unknown.

Summer weather is very warm - and usually dry -from mid May right through to September and even October.

Family visits to Toulouse (airbus and space centre) are popular with children whilst the city offers great shopping and museums, as well as vibrant city life. Some 45km away are the cities of Albi and Cahors which have lots to offer. Nearer to hand, the caves of Pechmerle, St Cirq lapopie, Cordes and Najac offer fascinating insights into the history of this most attractive part of France. Cahors and Gaillac are brimming with great wines to enjoy. There is a water centre outside Cordes and a major activity centre near Albi (La Decouverte).
