Les Acacias offers a comfortable and affordable base from which to explore the surrounding region. Swim, canoe or fish the river, cycle or hike in the surrounding hills, mountains, vineyards and country paths or just laze on the shaded terrace with a good book and a bottle of the excellent local wine.
Les Acacias is a comfortable village house situated in the heart of Roquebrun and within walking distance of all the village amenities. The house can accommodate up to 6 persons with 3 spacious bedrooms on its upper level, an open plan living/dining area and large kitchen on the ground floor and French doors leading to a shaded outdoor rear terrace. The terrace has steps leading down to a laneway and covered barn which may be used for parking. There is also a lower level basement/utility area which is accessed by internal stairs.
The house has tiled floors throughout and is well appointed with modern and cosy furnishings. The ample kitchen facilities encourage guests to visit the numerous local markets to buy the abundant, fresh regional produce. Alternatively, there are a number of excellent restaurants in the region which are well worth a visit. Several restaurants have been recommended in the guest information book in the house.
The traditional construction of the house with thick walls keeps the interior cool in summer and an electric storage heater and electric heating in all the rooms also make it an ideal winter let.
Facing south to the warmth of the Mediterranean sun, gateway to the Haut Languedoc Regional Park and at the heart of the St. Chinian vineyard appellation, Roquebrun is uniquely situated as a favourable year-round holiday destination.
Roquebrun is nestled in the foothills of the Caroux/Espinouse massif where the waters of the Orb river meet the tranquil landscape of the Mediterranean plain. Within a short distance the scenery changes from rugged mountains via the flat coastal plain of the Bas Languedoc to the sunny shores of the Mediterranean.
The village has a baker, small supermarket, café-bar, tabac, two restaurants, a pizzeria, wine co-operative, tourist office, post office and a few small winemakers, all conveniently situated within walking distance of Les Acacias.
The river Orb is a short stroll away for swimming or fishing. There is an esplanade for boules and a children's playground. Kayaks and canoes can be hired in the village during the summer months.
There are numerous walking and cycling trails around Roquebrun and the surrounding vineyards. There is a selection of walking and cycling maps and guides in the house for guest use.
