Ribérac (Occitan: Rabairac) is a commune of the Dordogne département in France. The commune is situated by the Dronne river.
In 1793, the commune of Faye joined with Ribérac. In 1851, a part of the commune was dismembered for hte creation of the new commune of Saint-Martin-de-Ribérac. Ribérac was the old sous-préfecture that was removed in a decree of September 10, 1926. Ribérac has a school, a lyceum, a high school, a church, a post office, a park and a square.
Riberac lies on the river Dronne in the heart of Perigord Vert in the North West Dordogne. It offers an extremely wide range of activities and places to visit to suit most interests. The warm sunny climate is ideal for active pursuits, sight seeing and shopping, or for just lazing around by the pool. The area is of course famous for its cuisine and there are a wide range of restaurants for everyone.
