PRICES Cave Dragonnette is rented as a flat and not on a per person basis. The flat is ideal for two adults, but can also accomodate a family with up to two children. Preferably, the minimum rental period is 1 week (7 nights).

• A deposit of 200 euros is excluded from the price.

• Excluded from the prices shown above is end cleaning of the apartment, which cost € 70 euros. Should you want one or more mid-term cleanings during your holiday, you may indicate this when you reserve your stay. One mid-term cleaning is € 50, two € 80 and three € 120.
• Internet Connection Should you not be able to totally disconnect from the world for a few days of peace and quiet but wish to have internet connection a mobile internet USB device from Orange France is available for rent during your stay (deposit € 50 euros).

Roquebrune Mountain Village

If you want to enjoy a fantastic view and are in good shape try jogging or walking the steep road up to the mountain village Roquebrune. When you get there, watch our for the imposing castle cat. The castle itself was built in 970 by Conrad the 1st, Count of the Italian border town of Ventimiglia (or Vintimille). The purpose of building the bastle was to defend the western border of his feudal territory from the Saracens.

Roquebrune fortress is built in a simple style, and lacks traces of luxury or ambitious show-off. The Castellans - appointed by the Republic of Genoa to govern the village lived here between 1157 and 1395. Their officials were replaced each year. Tax collection and punishment for minor offences were amongst their duties.

Go see it for yourself! Enjoy the view and some cool air when it is too hot by the coast during summer season.

From Cave Dragonnière it is merely ten minutes by taxi to reach the principality of Monaco - the second-smallest independent state in the world. Monaco is a narrow coastal strip and its physical geography includes a long beach and steep cliffs. Monaco boosts a wide range of sights and events, and offers the best nighlife on the riviera. For those with lots of energy, one of the hot-spots in Monaco is Jimmy's (+377 9216 2000), which doesn't get started until after midnight. The late, late nightspots are the Rascasse (+377 9325 5690), and the Living Room (+377 9350 8031). Cultural highlights include the Philharmonic orchestra, the opera and the ballet. Monte Carlo, the principal residential and resort area, is home to the famous Monte Carlo Casino and the prestigious Formula One Monaco Grand Prix. In Monaco you are also spoiled with exceptional choices in spa, health and wellness services. If you want to enjoy private beaches with catering and all facilities included, there are several private beaches with catering you can visit for a small entry fee on a per day basis. The best private beaches are: La Spiaggia (+377 9770 4696), Monte Carlo Beach Club (+377 9350 5080), and Zebra Beach (+334 9301 1100). Further, Monaco has a wide selection of excellent restaurants. A Monégasque speciality is barbagiuan, a delicious tidbit of rice, spinach, leek and cheese, served as an appetizer. My favorite restaurant is Le Louis XV (+377 9216 3001), which has been ranked among the ten best restaurants in the world by Restaurant Magazine. Monaco is also home of one of the most prestigious soccer teams in Europe: AS Monaco. With seven league titles and five French Cup trophies, Monaco is one of France's most successful football teams. Menton

The apartment is 10 minutes away from Menton: one of the most picturesque of the coastal resort towns on the French Riviera, and is nicknamed La Perle de la France (The Pearl of France). Here you will find everything you desire for more reasonable prices than in Monaco. The small art galleries, pastry shops (try Stam Café by the county hall for excellent morning coffee), bakeries, restaurants, pubs and bars in the old town are worth a visit. There is a night bus going back to Roquebrune-Cap-Martin departing from the old maritime fortress just past Menton harbour every night, at somewhat varying times, so better check the times ahead unless you want to take a taxi.

Menton is best discovered on foot. Start at the Place du Marché, easily recognized by its old covered market, and pass the pedestrian area around Rue Saint Michel and Place aux Herbes. Rue Longue takes you up to the Church of Saint Michel and if you are fond of luxury stores, you don't want to miss shopping in Rue Felix Faure and Rue de Verdun. It is also worth noting that Menton offers the finest winter beach on the French Riviera.
