Châtel

Châtel lies on the French Swiss border. It is a particularly charming village with Heidi style chalets. There are two full seasons with excellent skiing in the winter and plenty to keep you entertained in the summer including mountain biking, golfing, walking or for those who just like to potter gorgeous scenery and lovely villages to explore. Have a look at: www.chatel.com.

Haute-Savoie

Winter: Châtel is a gateaway to 650 km of skiing and 204 chair lifts in the Portes du Soleil area bordering resorts such as Avoriaz, Morzine, Les gets, not to mention the many Swiss resorts in the area. There are 14 villages in all that you can ski to, with many quaint restaurants to enjoy leisurely breaks with breathtaking views.

The summer is a completely different, yet equally magnificient time to come to the area. The rustic alpine scenery looks at its best in summer, as the snow capped peaks from a stunning backdrops for the flower strewn meadows which are like a honey pot for walkers and bikers. There are some fearsome mountain biking trails and in Spring, the meltwaters fill alpine stream, and create the opportunity for white water rafters and kayakers to tackle the slopes. There is also a 18 hole golf course in the area offering stunning alpine views whilst you play.

Rhone/French Alps

Winter: French Alps are not only good for beginners and intermediate skiers, thanks to the excellent reputation associated with its ski schools and because of the natural abundance of intermediate pistes, but also for experienced skiers with access to the "Portes du Soleil".

Summer: The mountain at its best.
