Brittany

Mysterious and enchanting, Brittany is an unforgettable holiday destination. It is the westernmost region of France, with a mild climate. For centuries independent, it has had a fascinating and varied history which is reflected in the architecture of its towns and cities.
Brittany has an immense coastline, with rugged granite cliffs and coves interspaced with long white sandy beaches and quaint fishing villages (Brittany is famous throughout France for its seafood and seafood restaurants).
A walkers paradise with many marked paths and trails.
In Brittany there is not a town or village that does not hold its own market. It's worth taking time to explore them as they sell fresh foodstuffs, home made paella straight from huge copper pans, saucisses with fried potatoes, gallettes, crépes, and fresh sea food.

The nearest town Huelgoat, is a 5 min drive away, it has a supermarket (open Sunday mornings). The town also boasts many bars, créperies, restaurants and shops. There is a beautiful lake, whose waterside restaurants serve traditional Breton fare which includes excellent crêpes. Huelgoat is the starting point for many trails and walks within the nearby Forest, which legend says was home to King Arthur. The area is rich in folklore and history. There are Caves, grottos and underground rivers a few minutes walk from the town centre in the famous Fôret de Huelgoat.
