Bourton-on-the-Hill

Bourton-on-the-Hill is an attractive village, situated less than two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh. Made up predominantly of 17th and 18th century Cotswold stone cottages, the village houses a beautiful 12th Century Church.

Located in the North Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Hill is ideally situated to act as your central base for visiting the many wonderful sites in the area from Warwick/Stratford-on-Avon to the North, Cheltenham & Bath to the South and the beauty spots of Broadway, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Campden, Stow-on-the-Wold and "The Slaughters", amongst others, are all nearer to hand.

Local amenities include the renowned gastropub, The Horse & Groom (remember to book in advance!) and Bourton House & Gardens. To either side of the village there is farmland, running down to the Batsford Arboretum and the Cotswold Falconry Centre.

You are also only a short drive (or walk along the Heart of England Way) to Sezincote and a few minutes drive from the Bourton-on-the-Hill site of the Cotswold Paintballing company.

The nearest mainline station is in Moreton-in-Marsh where there are also antique shops, gift shops, pubs, restaurants (both eat in and take-away), tea rooms and three supermarkets.

Moreton-in-Marsh

Moreton-in-Marsh with its 17th and 18th century buildings was an important weaving and coaching town. Previously a manor house, the White Hart Hotel sheltered King Charles I during the English Civil Wars. The town now hosts a market every Tuesday.

Cheltenham / Gloucester

Cheltenham has been welcoming visitors for almost 300 years, ever since the discovery of the first natural spring led to the development of the elegant spa town of today.
A unique and historic town in the county of Gloucestershire with a population of 109,800 (48,164 households). Cheltenham is also a cultural centre hosting an impressive calendar of international festivals and special events.

Cheltenham lies some five kilometres to the east of the M5 motorway mid-way between Bristol and Birmingham on the edge of the Cotswold Hills.

The borough is based on the town of Cheltenham and is mainly urban with some areas of surrounding countryside. It covers an area of approximately 4,680 hectares of which 17 percent is designated as green belt and 22 percent as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
