Brixham

The Golden Hind Museum ship - a replica of the flagship of Sir. Francis Drake has been based in Brixham harbour since 1963. Along the sails, masts and rigging you'll get a feel for life at sea in the 16th century, and below deck there are scenes of life at sea; as it used to be 400 years after the death of Sir Francis Drake.

Brixham Harbour with over 100 fishing boats boasts one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK; this added to the Fish Market on the quayside is an added attraction. A visitor viewing platform has been positioned so visitors can watch the busy comings and goings of the fishing fleet, made up of large beam trawlers and the smaller day boats

Despite its name, Ye Olde Coffin House has never been used as an undertakers although it has had a fairly colourful history. Built around 1700 as a fotification it later became an inn, then a work house. More recently it has been a barber's, sheep-skin shop, café and restaurant.
