Yopougon

Yopougon (Yop also said city) is a huge area "popular", to the west of Abidjan and Abidjan North, which lies between the forest and mud of the lagoon.

It includes several "sub-districts": Wassakara, Selmer, Terminus 40, Rue Princesse, Gesco, Niangon (North, South), Red Roof, Figayo, Sicogi, Cinema Kabadougou, Sideci, Andokoua, Koute, Mon Mar my left. The village is famous for its sutout Rue Princesse, whereabouts several scrub and nightclubs, she moves permanently every night until dawn. Yopougon is calm and safe, but a little eccentric.

There is camping copacabana. It was on this county that are installed the Pasteur Institute and the research station at the ORSTOM.

A last census dating back to late 2006 indicates that there are nearly 1500 maquis in the commune of Yopougon.
