How to get there

Take Route 5 south out of Veliko Tarnovo signposted for Stara Zagora. Be careful that you comply with the speed limit as there are often police speed traps along this stretch of road.

Pass over the Yantra River, then through a decaying industrial area (there is a Rompetrol garage on the right) and continue on the road uphill.

At the top of the hill, as the road becomes a dual carriageway, turn right off the road (the turn is signposted “Debelets”) and onto a slip-road which heads down to a T-junction at the bottom.

At the T-junction turn left and follow the road under a bridge (Route 5 passes over the bridge) and round two bends - first to the left and then to the right - heading towards the village of Prisovo.

Drive through Prisovo and continue along the road for about 3 km. until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right hand fork (this fork is signposted “Velchevo”). The road winds up a hill and then heads straight into Velchevo, about 5km beyond the fork.

Drive into the central square in Velchevo and then take the turn right out of the square, past the shop on the right and a children’s play area on the left.

Head along this road for about 200-300 m and you will see The House of St. George over a small bridge on the left – you will recognise it from the pictures on the website.

Turn left over the small bridge and enter the farm through the gates on the left.
