Smolyan will surprise you with its beautiful nature and hospitable people. The town has a magnificent situation and is know to be the heart of the mountain. It is 260 kilometers south of Sofia. It is situated in the narrow valley of Cherna river, among the most beautiful part of the Rodopi Mountain. Pamporovo is just 11 kilometers north of Smolyan. The town itself is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in Bulgaria.

Interesting places to visit are the Natural Reserve- Chinarat, the Planetary, the Middle Rodipi historical museum, the town’s Art Gallery.

10 kilometers west of the centre of Smolyan are the Smolyan lakes, also famous as “the emerald eyes of the Rodopi Mountain”. Today they are 7, the biggest one is Bistroto (the crystal clear one), which is also the deepest and the most beautiful. The whore regions like a natural park- forests, meadows, hotels, alleys, there is even a lift to Snejanka peak (Pamporovo).

The Smolyan waterfal on Kriva River is definately a place that worths to be visited. It is 20 meters high and is in a north- western diraction from the town.

In the visinity of the town numerous villages with authentic arcitectural style, that have preserved the spirit of the past can be visited.

The Rodopi Mountain is the most lyrical Bulgarian mountain. It has combined a soft and oval relief with the colourful carpets of the nature, inspirited by the architecture of the picturesque villages. Over 83% of the mountain is in Bulgaria the rest is in Greece. It takes the southern parts of Bulgaria and is a major part of the Rilo- Rodoppian mountain massif. The Rodopi mountain massif actually is a huge labyrinth of hills with different size and direction and is cut by deep river valleys. The mountain has left a mark over the historical development of the Bulgarian nation. Its name comes ever since Orpheus times.

Smolyan villa zone is situated in a secluded but not isolated area of the villa district of Smolyan, just 2.5km out of town. With lovely views over Smolyan from the lounge, bedrooms and veranda, which stretches across the front of the house. Lounge with double sofa bed, table and chairs, storage cupboard, open fireplace, connected TV, small music centre. Kitchen featuring sink unit, fridge, full size electric cooker with oven, automatic washing machine/dryer, oil filled electric heaters, bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin, two double bedrooms with double beds and bedside tables.

All towels and bedding provided, stored in pine chests on the landing.Main entrance via drive way leading to the 'summer kitchen' (under cover) with a large barbecue and large table with bench seating on both sides. The other side of the summer kitchen is open to garden with fruit and almond trees. Everything is ready and the beds are made up for your stay!
