Home description

Djalovata House is situated in the centre of the village of Dolen, close to the meandering river, which separates the village into two parts. The house represents a typical house of XIX century. It was build in 1856 and reconstructed in year 2000.

Djalova House offers for its guests five double and one single room with two bathrooms and toilets on each floor.

The house is famous for the rich and well-preserved collection of pottery and woven clothes, typical for the region.

Djalovata house offers a spacious verandah with total area of more than 100 square meters - an ideal place for recreation and sweet afternoon nap.

There is also a mechana and a fireplace. Tourists can prepare their own dinner in the fitted kitchen or enjoy the delicious dishes in the mechana. Here the guests of the house can enjoy peaceful evenings with friends, good wine and long conversations.

Upon previous request can be organized special ethno evenings with bag-pipe and drum players.

The peace and quietness reign in the whole region. The village of Dolen is part of the Chech region in the western Rhodopa mountain. In 1978 Dolen, together with the villages of Kovachevitsa and Leshten was pronounced an architectural preserve.

Close to the house is the church "St. Nicolay Mirlikiiski Wonder worker", which was built in year 1837.

Old people from the village of Dolen claim that most of the houses in the village have secret tunnels, leading to the church.

In the region of forestry enterprise the village of Dikchan, some 10 km from the village of Dolen can be seen various game, while the waters of Karamanica river offer abundance of fish.

The guests of Djalovata House are welcome to go for long horseback rides or to enjoy Jeep safari in the mountain.

Nearby are the natural preserves Karaorman and Dikchan, the Thracian religious places of Kozi kamuk, Markova skala, Pop Manchin kamuk, Kara Kaja and Kara Tash.

Close to the village of Koprivlen is situated the old Thracian market place, dating from V²² century before Christ.

In the nearby village of Garmen can be seen the remnants of the biggest town from the Roman and Late Antique epoch - Nikopolis ad Nestum, founded in ²² century by Emperor Trayan as a celebration of his victory over the Dacians.
